Additionally, Motion Index Drives has expertly crafted both the machine base and the table top, the latter being pre-machined to facilitate seamless integration of auxiliary equipment. This design consideration allows for a highly customizable setup, tailored to support a variety of operational configurations alongside the LFA100 conveyor system.
The customer’s tooling was set up with a 9-inch center distance, and they required a conveyor that could index with 9-inch increments to align perfectly with their tooling during the manufacturing process. This custom-designed conveyor was built to handle the demands of automotive manufacturing, with a robust design that ensured long-term durability and high-performance indexing. The integration of the aluminum jig plates provided versatility to easily adapt to different tooling setups, giving the customer flexibility in their operations.
Motion Index Drives designed and delivered a custom LFA150 precision link conveyor for Infosight, enabling precise laser marking of crankshafts for the automotive manufacturing process. The conveyor’s high-precision capabilities ensured that each crankshaft was transported accurately through the five stations, facilitating the precise laser marking required for proper part identification. The system met all of the customer’s performance and environmental requirements, including the need for multiple working stations, precise indexing, and protection against airborne dust and particulates.
